processor until chopped

Pulse garlic, anchovy if you’re using, and shallot in food processor until chopped. With the food processor running, add lemon juice, parsley, kale, basil, and chives. The herbs won’t process very well without much liquid yet, don’t worry.

Very slowly drizzle in ¼ cup olive oil until kale and herbs get sufficiently chopped and everything is the consistency of a pesto.

Every once in a while, turn off the food processor and push herbs down the side of the bowl with a spatula every once in a while. You may need more or less of the olive oil depending on how well you packed chopped herbs into your measuring cups.

Season to taste with salt and pepper. You probably won’t need too much salt if you used 2 anchovies, though this is a pesto, so it’s better if it’s salty.

Store pesto in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for about a week.

centering the chakras

Loft living in Miami is not exactly conducive to having your own vegetable or herb garden. But as long as you have a wall, you can grow and tend edibles with a vertical garden HKUE amec. Our edible vertical garden currently includes Mint, Lemon Balm, Basil, Gotu Kola and French Sorrel. What could be better than wall art that feeds and soothes the body and the soul?!?

We found Gotu Kola, French Sorrel and our other herbs at the local farmers’ market. Gotu Kola is a healing and rejuvanative herb Healthcabin.net Discount Code. Spiritually, it aids in centering the chakras. Medicinally, it is used for not only improving memory and intelligence, but also for fatigue, anxiety, depression and Alzheimers disease.

I hope you enjoy this delicious recipe featuring Gotu Kola. If this herb is not accessible, the dish is equally as delicious with the substitution of watercress wismec.

You cannot brown the butter

he tart dough recipe is adapted from the French pastry dough on David Lebovitz’s blog. It’s quite a unique dough because it starts with boiling butter! You only need to combine the butter, oil, water, sugar and salt and bring it to a boil. Then add it to flour and mix it to form a dough hong kong homes for rent.

The technique might be a bit tricky if it’s your first time making it. The original recipe calls for an oven-proof glass bowl to heat the butter in the oven. Since I don’t have a glass bowl at home and I don’t think a iron cast pan would work as well, I decided to cook the butter on the stovetop kangertech box mod. Here comes the tricky part. You cannot brown the butter. You need to cook the butter until it just starts to change color. The butter cooks very quickly on the stovetop. If you cook it a few seconds longer, the dough will become very dry and too crumbly to spread by hand and shape into a cookie. I learned my lesson from two failed batches in a row 24 volt dc motors!

But don’t worry! I have taken multiple pictures of the process, so you can see how the butter should look like during cooking. Even if you cook a bit too long, you can still make the recipe work by adding water to the dough later on. The key is to make a soft and spreadable dough that holds its shape.

When it comes to baking, I’m a total beginner and have a long way to go. When I share baking recipes on the blog, I tend to write down as many details as I can, to share my own experience of trial and error. I strongly recommend you read the original recipe. It’s a beautiful tart crust and is incredibly easy to make. I hope it brings you some inspiration!

Happy Cooking!

Summer Olympics

Back during the 2012 Summer Olympics, my best girl friends and all their partners were up at a cottage on beautiful Georgian Bay. We took a break from dockside magazine reading, and lake swimming to watch Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt defend his Olympic Gold and cheer him on the most Jamaican way we knew how… with Dark N’ Stormies. Looking back, the Jamaican cocktail must have already been on our radar (why else would we have a bunch of ginger beer in the middle of Muskoka?), but it set the tone for an awesome night, and has made the drink an unofficial sign amongst us that good times are about to happen.

I had never really given much thought about the process of making ginger beer until I read this book. I became intrigued…. could I just do it at home? Turns out it’s super easy and I felt like a proud mama as I sat and watched the amber liquid grow and change into something delightfully bubbly and carbonated. The only draw back is it kind of makes a lot, which I don’t know if my liver or pancreas can handle. It reportedly keeps for one week if chilled, but I still feel like this is a lot for one girl to handle (I should probably call in the reinforcements of my besties!)

This weekend my husband and I are heading up north to celebrate the wedding of one of his good friends, who stood with us at our wedding, and while I hope it isn’t dark and stormy on their wedding day, I feel confident that by kicking the weekend off with this cocktail the weekend should be anything but.

When I attend cocktail parties, my favorite part is (no, not the cocktails or the good company), the hors d’œuvres!….The small mouthfuls that burst with flavor when you bite into them. I’m talking about those finger foods that are packed with so much flavor so as to satisfy with just a taste. Sadly, these little pieces of heaven are likely to be dripping with grease and packed with an unfavorable amount of saturated fat. Why? Because fat has flavor, and fat tastes good….cheese is fat…bacon is fat. Keep enjoying these and our buns will be…well….generously proportioned. Don’t get me wrong, fat can also be very healthy in the unsaturated form, such as olive oil, avocados, and nuts. Unfortunately, animal fat is just not very healthy. Predominately of the saturated variety, animal fat may be heart stoppingly delicious, and simply heart stopping. So let’s find ways to still enjoy our fats and our fun without near death experiences.

With that, I present to you “Boneless” Cauliflower Hot Wings. These suckers are so good you will never remember you are eating a vegetable! With a crispy crust and a creamy, yet crunchy interior they are to die for. I do dip these in a blue cheese dressing, and yes this is high in saturated fat – but c’mon we just knocked off like a million calories by using cauliflower – so live a little, will ya.

A Beautiful Mind

This has nothing to do with banana bread, but watching my husband watch the NFL Draft is kind of like watching Good Will Hunting. Or maybe A Beautiful Mind. The guy is obsessed.

Last Thursday night was the first night of the draft. (Yes, it’s on for multiple nights, didn’t you know? I know, because I didn’t get to watch Scandal for OVER 2 DAYS.) Jordan had theatre, so Mel set the DVR. But it was on at the place we had dinner, so he and all the guys in the restaurant stared slack-jawed at the TV.
He’d make a call before each pick, and except for 2 times, he was right. In fact, whenever we watch a sporting event Mel makes a call and the announcers say it two seconds later. (And when I say “we watch” I mean he watches and I read Twilight.)
Like I said, Good Will Hunting. But football.
I didn’t complain too much about not being able to watch Scandal for TWO WHOLE DAYS. I owed him one; during the NFL 2014-2015 line-up special (yes, that’s actually a thing on TV) I saw the 49ers were playing some important team on Thanksgiving and thought I was doing a favor and told him.
You should have seen the look he gave me.
So anyway, Banana Bread. I love it, like I love Scandal and he loves football.
I love it even more when it’s healthier. Because then I can eat more of it.

Now this is my kind of breakfast-for-dinner. Quiche Lorraine may sound lady-like, but this deep-dish version is fit for even the hungriest fella in your life neo skin lab derma21. My Hubby loved it. He even brought leftovers to work for his lunch, and determined that the recipe should have a more manly name since everyone was asking what he was eating that smelled so delicious. Quiche with Bacon, Onions, and Gruyere? That works too. Whatever you want to call it, it’s incredible glass tea infuser pot.

Before you decide to whip this up some Saturday morning, I beg of you, read the recipe in its entirety. There is a fair amount of planning involved. It is definitely not labor-intensive, but it is a bit time consuming. I’ve made this a few times now, and I’ll be honest, the first time was a bit frustrating because I miscalculated the time involved. I don’t want that to happen to you. Believe me though, the steps are worth it cloud solution.

This week has been raining cats and dogs! We were under every warning you can think of: flood, flash, tornado, etc. You name it but sometimes you just gotta make the most of it best insulated coffee mug.

I love everything about the rain though: smell, calming, makes me more reflective and creative. Plus I love being snuggled at home with a cup of tea behind my lap top. Unfortunately my week has been the opposite. I’ve been on the go since getting back from FL. Work at the office, work at home, unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping Neogen code 9 kr …

You know how it is, right? Need a day off from being away but I’m not complaining. I’m feeling very grateful and blessed for everything in my life. So today, I can finally catch up on my fav bloggers, cook up something delicious and paint my nails something bright and cheery. Today is a good day headphone amp!

MEXICAN GREEN RICE

My latest go to dinner obsession is skewers, specifically, fish skewers. I use sturdy fish like salmon, halibut, tuna, or this mahi mahi, and cut it into large chunks. It’s a great way to serve some of the more expensive varieties of fish because half a pound will make two dinner sized skewers external sound card . The thing I love about grilling is that you really don’t need to fuss with anything else like a sauce, or even a marinade, the grilling gives such great flavor on its own. A good squeeze of lime is all this needs. Try it over my MEXICAN GREEN RICE. Or if you’re in a hurry, steam up a box of couscous Alexander Hera.

I threaded whole jalapeno and key limes right on the skewers with the fish and pineapple. If you don’t like the heat, use sweet peppers jimmy choo sale.

It was a delicious

Years ago my friend Liz hosted a cheese party at her home. If you showed up with a bottle of wine, she gave you a plate of cheese! Okay, so it was actually a little fancier and more involved than that. She had gone to who knows how many cheese shops and gathered who knows how many cheeses and had them set up at different tables, organized by strength. Have you ever been to a cheese tasting? It’s really fun! You start with the mildest cheeses and work your way up. And you JUST EAT THE CHEESE. Leave the bread and crackers at home, this experience is about really tasting the cheeses, appreciating the nuanced differences of each type. It was a delicious, educational and fun night that obviously left an impression on me and changed the way I looked at cheese.

There truly is an art to cheese, one that I am woefully uneducated about but also very much appreciate. Nate lived in Paris for a few years back in the day, so we have a bias towards French cheeses. When I had the chance to work on a post for Président, trying out one of their recipes and sharing it with you, I jumped. We love brie and camembert and love to buy Président when we indulge GEM!

A few years ago, Nate and I went to Paris together. We ate so many wonderful foods, including cheese of course! As I was looking through Paris photos this morning to include in this post, I laughed when I discovered the very first photo I took in Paris was of a small round of Président camembert we bought on our first day in that marvelous city! No wonder that’s the cheese I always buy – we can enjoy a bit of France right here in California!

By the way, les crèmeries are to Paris what Dunkin’ Donuts are to Boston. I couldn’t believe how many cheese shops there were, and they all looked like this. No wonder the French have mastered the art of cheese iTable.

The recipe I am sharing with you today comes from Président’s website, where you can find all kinds of easy gourmet recipes. I chose this particular recipe because it not only sounded delicious but it was downright pretty. This beautiful torte would be perfect to serve at any party, but a cheese party would be especially lovely. It can serve as a nice alternative to the straight-up cheese tasting but still fit into the theme of the evening. Also, even though the torte might look intimidating to make, it actually is quite easy to throw together. You can totally impress without the stress!

Also, this food looked gorgeous at every step of the cooking process. Sorry for all the pictures, but I just couldn’t help myself congratulations flowers.
